Poetry as Art - Welcome   Partake in the passion of Poetry Lance and Michelle would like to welcome everyone to our site, we hope that your time here will not only be rewarding but also a heap of fun. We welcome all our old friends as well as new to join with us in endeavouring to make this a site, where not only will you have fun, make friendships, win prizes, possible publications down the track, but also learn from others. WE HAVE DECIDED THAT UNTIL THIS SITE IS FULLY FUCTIONAL, THERE WILL BE NO MEMBERSHIP FEES REQUIRED TO JOIN. WE EXPECT IT WILL BE AT LEAST ANOTHER 6 MONTHS BEFORE THE SITE WILL BE COMPLETED TO OUR EXPECTATIONS. Chat with other poets! Online Community     News   Poetry as Art news. POETRY CONTEST. Each month members may vote (confidentially) on poems submitted into the "MONTHLY CONTEST". Poem titles are to be submitted by the 21st, (cut off time for submissions) then up until the 28th of each month, members are invited to browse and read as many of these poems they wish. Once a member has decided on their favourite piece, it will cost them one shaker to submit a score on that poem. All poem scores will then be automatically tallied and the winning poem will be shown on site until the nexrt contest. The winning poet will receive a canvas print of the winning poem and an extra 12 shakers. The print can be either printed with just the poem, or you may also request artwork as a back drop (no cost). The canvas size is 30" x 20" (700mm x 500mm) valued at $135. Total prize with shakers $155. Once each monthly contest is completed, all poems submitted to the contest will automatically return to their relevant profiles. REVIEWS. There is to be no minimum amount of words required when submitting a review, but we do ask that you take time and effort when commenting on other's works. Reviewing is an important part in our learning process, to give comments such as "Gee I liked that" or "Good work, I'll call again" helps no one, especially the reviewer. Take your time, insightful, eloquent and well structured reviews are what all members should strive for, give what you expect to be returned, There is to be no cutting and pasting when reviewing, remember every poem is an individual art piece and to cut and paste a review shows little respect for the poems individuality. Rating of a poem will be confidential, this rating system is in place for us to keep tabs on a poems progress and it's inclusion in possible future publications. (with the poets consent). All poems on this site are and remain the poroperty of the poet who submitted the work.
